Who we are
Pickode is made by ErreD di Raison Daniel, an Italian sole proprietorship, Via delle Querce 14, 63082 Castel di Lama (AP), Italia, VAT no. 02283480446. We are the data controller for the processing described here.

What this policy covers
This policy covers the Pickode browser extension for Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Arc, Comet and Firefox, and the website pickode.com. The extension and the website are covered by the same policy because they are one product.
The extension works in your browser
Pickode reads the web pages you choose to inspect: their HTML, stylesheets and the resources they load. It does this only to show them to you, export them as code or files, and analyze them, and all of it happens on your device.
We do not collect, store, sell or share your browsing history, the content of the pages you inspect or any other personal data. Pickode has no user accounts and no server that receives your data. It contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code.
Data saved on your device
Some things are saved in your browser's extension storage so Pickode works the way you left it:
- your settings, such as language, theme and panel position;
- the CSS you choose to save for a site, reapplied when you visit it again;
- your Library: components, design tokens, palettes and Lottie animations you saved.
This data stays on your device. You can delete it from Pickode, or all at once by uninstalling the extension.
Requests to the site you analyze
Some checks need files that are not on the page itself. When you run them, Pickode requests those files directly from the website you are analyzing, for example robots.txt, llms.txt, the sitemap, the page's HTML without JavaScript, and its images (GEO, SEO, Debug and asset tools). These requests go from your browser to that website, like a normal visit. Nothing is sent to us.
Google Drive sync (optional)
If you connect Google Drive, your Library is saved in a visible "Pickode" folder in your own Drive so you can find it on other computers and browsers. This is off until you turn it on, and it is available only in versions of Pickode that include it.
Pickode asks only for Google's drive.file permission, which covers only the files Pickode itself creates. It cannot see or change any other file in your Drive. The sign-in happens between your browser and Google, and the files go directly from your browser to your Drive: they never pass through a Pickode server. The access token stays in your browser.
Disconnect revokes the access. The files stay in your Drive until you delete them.
Pickode's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don't transfer this data to anyone, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models, and no human reads it.
Pro license and purchases
Purchases are handled by Freemius, which is the Merchant of Record: it processes your payment, billing details and invoices under its own privacy policy. We receive what we need to manage your license, such as your name, email address, country, plan and order number.
When you activate Pro, the extension sends the license key, a random identifier for this browser and a name such as “Pickode · Chrome · macOS” to Freemius to verify it and count your activations. It checks again about once a week. No browsing data is sent.
Why the extension asks for these permissions
Browsers show a list of permissions when you install Pickode. This is what each one is for:
- Access to all websites: so you can inspect any page you visit, read its original stylesheets and list the resources it loads.
- Tabs and scripting: to open the tools on the current tab and Pickode's own pages, such as the responsive view.
- Storage and unlimited storage: for your settings and your Library, saved on your device.
- Downloads: to save the files you ask for, such as exports, ZIP files, screenshots and reports.
- Context menus: for the Pickode entry in the right-click menu.
- Web requests (read only) and network rules: to list the files a page loads, and, only in Pickode's own tabs, to show sites at different device sizes and to download unprotected video streams.
- Browsing data: only for the Debug tool, on your request, to clear the data of the site open in the tab.
- Side panel: to show the tools in the browser's side panel (not in Firefox).
- Identity: only to sign in to Google when you connect Google Drive.
This website
This website doesn't use cookies for tracking or advertising, and it contains no social media pixels. Your theme choice is remembered in your browser's local storage and never sent to us.
The hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages, a service of Cloudflare, Inc.) processes technical data such as your IP address and browser in its server logs, to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse.
Visit statistics: none. This website uses no analytics tools; if we add one, it will be cookieless and we'll list it here before turning it on.
The buy buttons on the pricing page take you to Freemius's checkout at checkout.freemius.com. What you enter there goes to Freemius; this website loads no payment scripts.
Legal bases
Under the GDPR we rely on the contract with you (art. 6(1)(b)) to sell and verify Pro licenses and give support, on legal obligations (art. 6(1)(c)) for tax records, and on our legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f)) in keeping the website secure and answering messages. Google Drive sync happens only because you ask for it.
Transfers outside the EU
Some providers we use are based in the United States or run a global network: Cloudflare for hosting this website, Freemius for payments and licenses and, only if you turn on sync, Google for Drive. When data leaves the European Economic Area, the transfer relies on the safeguards provided by the GDPR, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep data
License and order data: for as long as the license is active, then for the period required by Italian tax law (10 years). Support emails: up to 2 years after the last message. Data saved by the extension on your device or in your Drive: until you delete it; we have no copy.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. Write to info@pickode.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) or the authority in your country.
Children
Pickode is a professional tool and is not directed at children under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Pickode handles data, we'll update this page and the date at the top before releasing the new version. Significant changes will also be listed in the changelog and, if you have a license, sent to you by email.
